Qualifications:

Education Requirement:

  • Must be a current University of Iowa student in their Junior or Senior* year working towards a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related science field; or
  • Be a recent University of Iowa graduate within the past 12 months and hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related science field.

*Due to the structure of this training program, preference is for a student entering their senior year, however, juniors are welcome to apply and will be considered. 

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to learn from all experiences and opportunities.
  • Ability to work with individuals in a constructive and respectful manner while appreciating the unique contribution of an inclusive workforce that brings together the talents of people across multiple identities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Availability for potential full-time role in academic year 2024-2025.

Compensation, Location, and Availability:

  • Compensation:
    •  $16/hour for current students
    • $22/hour for a UI graduate
  • Location: Iowa Bioscience Innovation Facility (IBIF)/College of Pharmacy
  • Work modality: on campus
  • Internship start date: Summer 2024
  • Availability:
    • Summer break - 30-40 hours/week
    • Academic year - 10-20 hours/week for current students, for UI graduates hours may increase based on interest and availability
