The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Anesthesia is seeking an Academic Clinical Program Management Associate to function as the Anesthesia Resident Coordinator - providing administrative services and support for the daily operations of the Resident Education Programs and other education activities of the Department of Anesthesia.

Duties to include: 

  • Coordinate daily administrative activities related to resident program management, including but not limited to, entering conference attendance, posting didactic lectures, and meetings, initiating fellowship and program evaluations, and running compliance reports.
  • Set up resident interviews, create itineraries, coordinate travel arrangements, and facilitate interview days.
  •  Coordinate the resident didactic lecture series, journal club, case conferences, and assist with revision of fellowship curriculum.
  •  Ensures ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) Common Program Requirements for each fellowship program are being followed.
  • Manage all Resident program correspondence, reports, and files.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage small and large group interaction is required.
  • Demonstrate careful attention to detail with great accuracy together with strong organizational skills. The ability to handle multiple projects, proactively establish priorities, and meet varying deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Desirable Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year experience coordinating or managing a graduate medical education (residency or fellowship) program.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of ACGME requirements and standards.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
