Assistant Director, Career Development
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Minimum of one year of experience in providing programs and services within an NCAA institution student services operation that supports student educational experiences and retention;
- Excellent outstanding oral, written, and electronic communications skills as demonstrated through effective and creative presentation/training delivery; review of student career documents (e.g., applications, cover letters and resumes); and delivery of complex and sensitive information.
- Ability to work constructively and collaboratively in a diverse environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
- Demonstrated working knowledge and ability to provide counseling to assist students in course selection and study skills.
Desired qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Some experience (typically 1-3 years) working directly with a high-profile Division I sports team, in an environment that requires a high level of confidentiality;
- Significant experience (typically 3-5 years) evaluating initial and continuing student-athlete athletics eligibility;
- Significant experience (typically 3-5 years) working at an institution of higher education in a career services unit;
- Demonstrated experience evaluating results of a career/talent assessment tool such as StrengthQuest (please specify);
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships and maintain productive, sustained relationships with clients, patrons, and associates.
