EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may also serve to meet these minimum requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the field of educational development.
  • A minimum of three semesters (as instructor of record) teaching college-level courses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practical application of higher education teaching and learning research, particularly in DEI pedagogies, active learning, course design, curriculum design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice of graduate student development, faculty development, and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated engagement with pedagogies and practice in STEM, social sciences, humanities, or the arts.
  • Demonstrated project creation, development, and project management skills, including experience facilitating or integrating a diverse team.
  • Strong presentation skills, including an understanding of and appropriate response to an array of audiences with varied professional development needs. Flexibility and strong ability to “think on one’s feet” when presenting. Experience with interactive workshop presentation development and delivery on pedagogical topics.
  • Characteristics needed to be successful: strong communication skills; written, verbal, listening, presentation; leadership skills; creativity/adaptability/flexible thinking; team building
  • Strong commitment to diversity in the workplace and community.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in a discipline that provides broadly applicable understanding and skills across STEM, social science, humanities, and arts disciplines.
  • Teaching experience in a STEM discipline in a University context.
  • Understanding of relevant instructional design concepts and processes; ability to design instructional content to meet the learning needs of a target population.
  • Experience integrating new or emerging pedagogical concepts and teaching technologies into courses and instructor professional development.
  • Knowledge of academic assessment methods. 
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
