Assistant Director, Iowa Neuroscience Institute
Required:
- Ph.D. in relevant field or MD required
- Ability to review papers and proposals
- 5 years of productive research experience focusing on topics of broad interest in neuroscience.
- Ability to foster an environment in which excellence in research, teaching, and scholarship can flourish.
- Experience and interest in developing interdisciplinary training and research programs.
- Significant experience and skill in scientific writing and communication.
- Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications.
Desired:
- Record of innovative and effective administrative and fiscal leadership
- Record of excellent interpersonal skills
- Positive interactions with students, staff, and faculty
- Record of high-quality scientific publications as a primary author
- Experience with the writing, editing, and revision of grant applications to NIH, other federal agencies, and/or private foundations
