Qualifications:

Education or Equivalency Required

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Reasonable (typically 1-3 years) administrative, supervisory, and program experience is required.
  • Experience working with and/or supervising college students.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint including database management.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills for writing and speaking, with diverse audiences.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with staff supervision in higher education.
  • Student advising experience.

  • Writing sample:  Please submit and attach a writing sample along with your resume, and cover letter.  Instructions for the writing sample are as follows:  Please compose a professional email, inviting the University of Iowa Vice President for Research, to be a keynote speaker for the Marshall Undergraduate Research Conference. For context, past speakers for this conference have discussed their undergraduate involvement, what undergraduates bring to a research rich institution, like the University of Iowa, or how research impacts people.  The keynote is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am, and last for half an hour.  Keep in mind that your audience will be college undergraduate students, with some or no research experience.
