Graduate Program Coordinator – School of Art, Art History & Design
The School of Art, Art History & Design is seeking a Graduate Program Coordinator.
This position Serves as the main contact for the MA, MFA, and PhD programs of the School of Art, Art History & Design. Facilitates the admissions process, maintains records on all graduate students, and counsels and processes paperwork for graduate students from the application process through graduation. Responsible for graduate student contracts and budget tracking. Facilitates the graduate student orientation in the fall and the graduation ceremony in the spring.
After a sufficient orientation period, this position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as graduate program liaison with faculty, staff, students, applicants, Graduate College, and Admissions Office.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze student records for all graduate students.
- Obtain, prepare, and assemble all information for faculty review related to the application, review, and graduation process for the graduate program.
- Assist the Directors of Graduate Studies with new graduate student and teaching assistant orientations.
- Facilitate and coordinate the process for students to secure galleries for exhibitions.

Education Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Some (6 months to 1 year) administrative experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in computer software applications, especially spreadsheet database systems.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple cycles of deadlines and processes simultaneously.
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations.
