Associate Director, Leadership Studies
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Student Development, Counseling, Higher Education, Leadership, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience providing a comparable level of expertise.
- Requires approximately three years of experience in roles such as advising, coaching, teaching, training, counseling, recruiting, human resources, talent development, career services, or other related academic/helping professions.
Competencies Required:
- Demonstrates an extensive proficiency level in the following competencies:
- Program coordination: planning, implementing, and managing programs or services in an educational or training setting
- Content and/or curriculum development and facilitation: creating, delivering, and assessing workshops, courses, or training modules
- Effective communication (written and oral): professional writing and public speaking/presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team-based environment that supports individuals from a variety of backgrounds and groups in a constructive and respectful manner.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and follow-through, with the ability to accurately interpret and apply policies, procedures, and program requirements.
- Program coordination: planning, implementing, and managing programs or services in an educational or training setting
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education, including one-on-one and/or group interactions with college students, preferably involving advising, training, or supervising student groups.
- Proficiency in training, supervising and evaluating student or professional staff
- Demonstrated knowledge/ability in MAUI or comparable student information system
- Demonstrated knowledge/ability in Canvas or comparable learning management system
- Experience with leadership program development, instruction, or coordination

Work Modality: This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $63,000–$70,000, with the top of the range reserved for exceptionally qualified applicants. This position includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
