Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic arts, design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working experience in sports “action” and “studio” photojournalism
- Proficient with Canon (or equivalent) professional photographic equipment and experience with studio lighting equipment and techniques
- Working experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere and After Effects)
- Working knowledge of and the ability to:
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, through exemplary customer service to all constituents;
- Work constructively and collaboratively in a diverse environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
- Work effectively in a highly regulated team environment.
- A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards.
- One to three years of experience in sports “action” and “studio” photojournalism preferred.
- Proficient with Apple Mac computers
- Proficient with Photo Mechanic including culling and organizing images, adding appropriate meta data and FTP transmission
