Education Requirements

A Ph.D. in a biomedical science or equivalent professional degree.


Experience Requirements

A minimum of 3 year's experience as a postdoctoral fellow or equivalent with practical experience and publication record related to neurodegenerative and/or neurodevelopmental disorders.


Highly Desired Qualifications

 2 or more years of experience supervising a research team.


Experience with neuronal differentiation and characterization of patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells.

 

Experience in the cloning, subcloning of cDNAs, transfections and transductions of mammalian cells and the functional characterization of transfected/transduced proteins products.  Experience with other molecular biology tools such as the preparation of RNA, as well as the quantitation of endogenous gene expression and transcriptional regulation.


Experience with maintaining colonies of genetically modified mice, genotyping and using mice as experimental animals.


Established track record of scientific productivity (e.g., authorships in peer-reviewed publications) and grant support, including individual fellowships.


Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to work independently.


Willingness to work flexible hours.
