Behavioral Health Clinician
Education Requirement
- Prospective candidates must have earned a master’s degree in Social Work.
Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work
-
An Independent License to practice social work in Iowa is required (LISW)
-
Minimum 2 years of Social Work practice experience in school and/or behavioral health settings
-
Experience providing mental health services to school-aged youth and/or adults
-
Specialized training and experience in risk assessment
-
Experience in providing evidence-based interventions (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, etc.)
-
Experience in short-term individual and group intervention delivery
-
Experience formulating diagnostic opinions and treatment plans utilizing criteria from the DSM-5
-
Experience in building and maintaining relationships with referral sources, families, and local communities
-
Experience working with diverse populations
-
Evidence of collaboration, collegiality, professionalism, and positive professional relationships
-
Knowledge of mandatory reporting statutes and processes in the state of Iowa
Desired Qualifications
-
3+ years of social work experience in schools and/or behavioral health settings
-
Specialized training and experience in crisis response
-
Experience with specific mental health populations, including depression, suicidality, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse
-
Experience working directly in schools/academic settings or in consultation with schools/academic settings
-
Experience providing clinical supervision to social work practicum students
