Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications studies or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 – 2 years related administrative and program experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekends and evenings.
  • Current driver’s license and ability to meet The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standard. 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a position with high volume public contact and in providing excellent customer service is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing and running special events.
  • Demonstrated ability to create programs, promotional, and educational material.
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the blood bank industry.
  • Previous experience in a health care setting.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to edit and assist in writing articles and reports for publication and distribution.
  • Prior experience in blood donor recruitment.
  • General knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations are desirable.
