Clerk III, Health Information Management Record Processing, University of Iowa Health Care, Hospital Support Services Building (HSSB)
The Department of Health Information Management at the University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a full-time, Clerk III. This position will be responsible for medical record activities with primary duties to include scanning and/or importing clinical documents into the electronic medical record (EMR), performing quality review of scanned/uploaded medical records documents and performing daily statistics.
This position location is in Coralville, IA and eligible to participate in remote work. Remote work must be performed at an offsite location within the State of Iowa. Training will be held ONSITE at the Health Care Support Services (HSSB) building at a length determined by the supervisor. Remote eligibility will be evaluated upon a satisfactory job training and meeting required performance standards. Successful candidates must comply with requirements of the remote work program and related policies. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and education/credential verification.

Salary: $39,087.36 to $58,171.68
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Review, organize, and prepare external patient documentation to be scanned or uploaded into Epic.
• Scan and/or upload medical record documents and create/update Referral via Epic.
• Communicate appropriately with clinical departments regarding medical records received and uploaded.
• Perform daily audit on all scanned documents from both HIM and clinical departments.
• Complete daily statistics.
• Sort and process incoming and outgoing correspondence.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patient information including computerized data.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
• Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.
