Qualifications:

Education or Equivalency Required
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology, Clinical Lab Science, or Biology, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Required Qualifications

·         Typically, six months to one year of relevant laboratory experience.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Highly Desirable Qualifications

·         Basic knowledge and experience in molecular methods including real-time PCR and DNA sequencing.

·         Working experience in clinical laboratory testing.

·         Previous public health laboratory experience.

·         Certification by ASCP is highly desirable.

Desirable Qualifications

·         Graduate degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology or Public Health related field.

·         Knowledge and experience performing Next Generation Sequencing.

·         Working familiarity with QA/QC, lab safety and Windows based computer operations.
