Clinical/Technical Specialist
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform post-mortem excision of human ocular tissues and physically able to move donors during recoveries
- Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license, plus the ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards (University of Iowa Operations Manual Part V, Chapter 19)
- Ability to work in an on-call capacity after hours/weekends as required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and proficient in computer software applications
Desirable Qualifications
- Eye recovery technician experience (at least 6 months) and knowledge of eye donation procedures
- Healthcare experience (at least 6 months)
- Knowledge of basic ophthalmologic anatomy and physiology
- Administrative experience (at least 6 months)
- Some knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations
