Required Qualifications

  1. Ability to perform post-mortem excision of human ocular tissues and physically able to move donors during recoveries
  2. Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  3. Valid driver’s license, plus the ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards (University of Iowa Operations Manual Part V, Chapter 19)
  4. Ability to work in an on-call capacity after hours/weekends as required
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  6. Detail oriented and proficient in computer software applications

 

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Eye recovery technician experience (at least 6 months) and knowledge of eye donation procedures
  2. Healthcare experience (at least 6 months)
  3. Knowledge of basic ophthalmologic anatomy and physiology
  4. Administrative experience (at least 6 months)
  5. Some knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations
