The Department of Pathology is seeking a Clinical Trial & Data Management Research Associate to coordinate and manage activities related to the review, management, and monitoring of new and ongoing research and clinical trial programs. This role will also support, conduct and manage clinical trials to deliver and evaluate research protocols.  This position is 100% time, Monday-Friday, 1st shift from 0800-1630.

 

Duties to include:

  • Coordinate and review processes of new protocols and write study procedures in DeGowin Blood Center.
  • Assure compliance with policies and procedures as they relate to protocol management activities.
  • Participate in the design, development and testing of clinical research trials data systems.
  • Manage and organize regulatory documentation from sites and regulatory authorities.
  • May assist Financial Manager with tracking of expenses and revenue for studies conducted in DeGowin Blood Center.

Required Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in a Biological Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

·        Minimum of 1 year administrative or program experience

·        Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

·        Extensive knowledge of MS Office programs and databases

·        Experience managing complex information requiring attention to detail

·        Excellent problem solving skills

 

Desirable Qualifications:

·        Database management experience

·        Knowledge of cellular therapy or blood bank laboratory procedures

·        Knowledge of apheresis procedures

·        Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and procedures

·        Knowledge of clinical trials management systems

·        Relevant experience in the conduct of clinical research studies

·        Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations
