POSITION QUALIFICATIONS


Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.


Required Qualifications: 

  • 1-3 years professional experience in event planning.
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and large groups both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated constructive and collaborative relationship-building skills with a variety of individuals and groups, including peers, leadership, and external constituents.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Office (spreadsheet, word processing, teams, and presentation software), as well as other applications required for communication, data organization and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability in performing detailed documentation with accuracy, prioritizing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with a diverse population.
  • Valid drivers license and the ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety driving requirements.

Desired Qualifications:  

  • 3-5 years of work experience planning events in a fast-paced, high volume work environment
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, hosting, executing, and evaluating virtual events via Zoom or other platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems – Salesforce in particular.
  • Experience with LMS systems (e.g. ICON, Canvas, Blackboard, etc).
  • Experience with survey and marketing design/communication tools (e.g. Qualtrics, Adobe InDesign & Illustrator, Canva, and Dispatch).

Remote within Iowa: This position is eligible for primarily remote work but may require limited work onsite at times. 

This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
