Community Resource Specialist - CDD
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in disability services
- One year experience providing program coordination, including effective task management that require a high level of attention to detail, prioritization, and critical thinking
- Extensive proficiency in working with various software tools including being able to perform in an online work environment
- Excellent written and verbal skills, ability to quickly develop rapport utilizing varying modes of communication
- Experience successfully working independently and as a cooperative and interactive member of a team
- Ability to maintain a home office and to meet the Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD) Field Employee Equipment and Configuration Standards regarding internet access and other technology requirements
- Holds or agrees to obtain AIRS Certification as a certified Resource Specialist – Aging/Disabilities within one year of date of hire and maintains that certification
- Ability to travel throughout the state of Iowa and hold a valid driver’s license, plus the ability to meet the University of Iowa Driving Policy
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of systems of support for Iowans with Disabilities, their families, and service providers
- Experience quickly developing rapport and trust in working and communicating with people of various backgrounds
- Some knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations
- Experience in navigating challenges of those experiencing financial crises and/or unstable housing situations with complex presentations, including intellectual, physical, and mental disabilities and chronic health conditions
