Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Informatics, Instructional Technology, Information Science, Health Care related degree, mathematics, statistics, computer science or other related degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in information technology support or healthcare.
  • Typically, one or more years of experience or master’s degree project experience
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, large volume data from varying sources.
  • Fluent with statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Fluent programming with Python, Java, Scala or R.
  • Familiar with relational database management and design, SQL preferred
  • Experience with data visualization and management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated by the ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors to provide excellent customer service and maintain working relationships.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; the ability to explain technology concepts to non-technical faculty, staff and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently; able to manage complex processes and prioritize competing needs with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with a diverse population.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in business analytics or related field
  • Familiarity with databases, healthcare data, research data collection, or electronic medical record data.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience supervising/training others.
  • Firm grasp of a variety of machine learning techniques, such as decision trees, neural networks, clustering, and dimension reduction.
  • Experience with text-mining, natural language processing, DataFrames, Spark
  • Experience with HLM and/or longitudinal analysis.
