Education Required

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or MIS or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications

  • Typically, 7-10 years of experience working directly with relational database systems using SQL and SQL procedural languages.  Required skills include a thorough understanding of relational database design fundamentals and the ability to write and interpret highly complex SQL DML and DDL statements.
  • Ability to interpret, modify and create complex custom database stored procedures and functions.
  • Experience with interpreting query execution plans in order to identify opportunities for improved performance in a very high-volume database environment.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ability to work directly with data consumers and subject matter experts and effectively translate their analytic requirements into technical database design specifications.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and strong interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • IT work experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Understanding of basic business principles (e.g. General Ledger, A/R, etc.)
  • Basics of Microsoft’s SQL Server Integration Service ETL tool.
    Working knowledge of OLAP data structures using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
  • Experience implementing source/version control in SSIS.
  • Practical experience working with the Epic EHR and their Clarity and Caboodle analytic platforms.
