Director, Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent amount of education and experience.
5 years of experience in emergency management/disaster preparedness or related field
Licensure Requirement: Professional certification in Emergency Management required within six months after start date; current licensure preferred.
Familiarity with Hospital Incident Command System structure and Joint Commission Emergency Management standards
Experience in managing projects, at both tactical and strategic levels
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Requires excellent analytic, consultative, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment
Effective management skills including planning, directing, evaluating, and controlling systems
Proficient in MS Office and additional computer applications
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in directly related field
5-10 years of directly relevant experience
Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) conferred by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)
National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification
Prior experience in hospital emergency management role and coordinating health care preparedness, response, and recovery processes and audits in an Academic Medical Center (AMC).
Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training - Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800
Desired Qualifications
Experience with coordinating health care preparedness, response, and recovery processes.
Success completion of Hospital Disaster Management Training
Project management certification
Successful completion of FEMA’s Professional Development Series (PDS)
Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification
