Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, mass communications, or related field.
Required Qualifications
- Typically, 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communication and marketing, preferably in an academic or similarly complex environment.
- Experience and familiarity with digital communication platforms and tools, including social media, CMS, and content performance analytics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to distill complex topics for a variety of audiences. Applicants advancing to later stages in the selection process will be asked to provide writing samples.
- Proficiency with modern communication and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Slack, project management platforms).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional communication projects, including team coordination, goal setting, and delivery.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience mentoring or developing communications professionals and cultivating a culture of innovation, accountability, and growth.
- Knowledge of strategic communications and marketing in a higher education institution.
- Supervisory experience, including performance planning and management, and staff development.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into scalable communications solutions, including toolkits, templates, and training to empower others.
- Demonstrated use of data and audience insights to inform strategy, content planning, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with emerging tools and trends, including AI-assisted content development, automation, and/or personalization in communications.
- Master’s degree in marketing, public relations, mass communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.
