Qualifications:

Education Requirement:

  • Advanced degree (i.e. MHA, Doctorate) in a field related to clinical health services.

Experience Required:

  • Progressive experience (typically 10 years or more) as a clinical-leader including design, development, and direction of health-related programs and services, responsibility for fiscal management, budget development, supervision of medical and non-medical staff members, training and performance management.
  • Knowledge of quality assessment and improvement procedures and evidence-based practices in health care management, patient care, and prevention programs.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of the communication techniques and relationship building skills that develop the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams in a mission-centered environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as strong interest and skill in working with diverse populations.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an MD or DO in the state of Iowa.
  • Experience in primary care pediatrics, internal medicine, or family medicine.
  • Experience in college health and an understanding of college health models.
  • Experience working within a collective bargaining environment.
  • Healthcare administration certifications, such as Fellow of the American College Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Certified Medical Manager (CMM) or related.
