Educ Supp Svcs Associate
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or an equivalent combination of education and event experience.
- Typically 6 months - 1 year of event planning experience.
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to:
- Plan, organize, monitor and control multiple projects, ensuring efficient use of resources in order to achieve project objectives.
- Demonstrate excellent writing and editing skills utilizing AP Style, including ability to use language accurately and creatively, to recognize and use correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Working knowledge of:
- MS Office applications and other communication tools.
- Performing duties in a team oriented, fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
- Ability to handle physical requirement of event set-up and take down.
- Ability to work weekends, evening hours, and travel overnight as needed.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license which meets compliance with the standards of the University of Iowa’s Fleet Safety Program.
- Preferred large-scale event planning experience of 100+ attendees for 1 year.
- Experience with social communication tools including social media platforms and email marketing tools.
- Familiarity with post-secondary higher educational institutions.
- Working knowledge of UI policies and procedures relating to on-campus events and communications.
- Experience hiring, scheduling and supervising student staff/interns.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
