Event Coordinator
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, event planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
• 1-2 years of event planning experience.
• Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control multiple projects, ensuring efficient use of resources in order to achieve project objectives.
• Ability to perform duties in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment; flexible.
• Ability to handle physical requirement of event setup and teardown, including moving 30 pounds.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings and to travel overnight.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license which meets compliance with the standards of The University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program.
• Demonstrated constructive and collaborative relationship building skills with a variety of individuals and groups, including peers, leadership, and external constituents.
Desired Qualifications
• Large-scale event planning experience of 100+ attendees for 2-3 years.
• Experience hiring, scheduling, and supervising students and/or interns.
• Experience working in a post-secondary education environment and with students.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
