Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in program management, event planning or management, communications, marketing, or public relations.  
  • Must be able to work atypical office hours with evening, weekend, and early morning events and set up requirements on a regular basis. 
  • Experience in planning, organizing, estimating, and executing programs and events including all logistics and staging. 
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and analyzing marketing, communication, and engagement strategies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Well-organized and detail-orientated. 
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at the same time. 
  • Adept at functioning in a highly computerized environment.  Proficient in computer software applications including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and various databases.
  • Ability to work independently, cooperatively with a team, and with a diverse population.
  • Valid driver’s license plus the ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Safety program driving standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with academic and institutional advancement programs.
