POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Typically, 5-7 years in a senior leadership role of a comprehensive university entrepreneurship center or technology based new venture acceleration program or significant experience leading advanced technology or high growth entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Demonstrated ability to propose, plan, and develop new initiatives. Formulated goals and strategic plans. Develop, implement, evaluate, and direct an organization's strategic vision and plan for multiple units or departments or a highly complex college or division.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and directing the administrative and operational activities of a program or service to reach comprehensive goals. Advised and made recommendations on program goals and internal and external trends.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial oversight of a program or service and proven track record of external fundraising.
  • Experience serving on various internal and external committees, commissions, agencies, and/or associations. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement and business development strategy for advancing center goals.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing change management plans to control scope, cost, and contracts. Audit results to align the program/project outcomes with stakeholder expectations and standards.
  • Expert proficiency in collaborating and embracing diversity, working with a variety of individuals and groups to foster respectful communication, learning and spirit of cooperation.
  • Current valid driver’s license and ability to meet the UI Fleet Safety Driving Policy.
  • Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, up to 15% of the time each year.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • 10 or more years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Entrepreneurial experience including founding/co-founding a company.
  • Well-developed network in the entrepreneurship and venture financing space.
  • Knowledge of University Policies and Procedures.
