POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirement
- Master’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Typically, 5 or more years in a leadership role of a comprehensive university entrepreneurship center or technology based new venture acceleration program or significant experience leading advanced technology or high growth entrepreneurial ventures.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and evaluating an organization's strategic vision in a highly complex college or division.
- Proven track record of external fundraising, via philanthropy and/or venture finance.
- Demonstrated experience planning and directing the administrative and operational activities of a program or service, including financial oversite, to reach comprehensive goals. Advised and made recommendations on program goals and internal and external trends.
- Experience serving on various internal and external committees, commissions, agencies, and/or associations. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a business development strategy for advancing center goals.
- Expert proficiency in promoting a positive work environment, working with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, to foster respectful communication, learning and spirit of cooperation.
- Current valid driver’s license and ability to meet the UI Fleet Safety Driving Policy.
- Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, up to 25% of the time each year.
Desired Qualifications
- 10 or more years of experience in a leadership role.
- Entrepreneurial experience including founding/co-founding a company.
- Well-developed network in the entrepreneurship and venture financing space.
- Knowledge of University Policies and Procedures.
