Graduate Recruiting Counselor - Tippie College of Business
The University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business is seeking a Graduate Recruiting Counselor. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to be part of a centralized team of recruiting professionals that support the enrollment goals for graduate programs at Tippie. This team utilizes a cutting-edge marketing/sales technology stack and a high-touch customer service model at one of the leading business schools in the world.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Recruiting and supports a team of recruiters by acting as a first point of contact for prospective students. In addition, this position manages recruiting events (on and off campus), updates data in the prospective student Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for recruitment and admissions and assists as needed in staffing recruiting events. This position is also responsible for cultivating relationships with a portion of the prospective student funnel, assisting prospects through the application process; meeting one-on-one with prospective students; and leading information sessions. This position also plays a key role in lead activation and outreach campaigns.
As a key member of the recruiting team, this position will set the tone for every incoming student’s experience and support recruiting’s role of building relationships and moving prospective students further down the recruitment funnel.
This position requires occasional night/weekend travel.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Administrative supervision is received from the Assistant Director of Recruiting.
Job Duties and Tasks:
- Act as a first point of contact for inbound inquiries and initiate outbound communication with prospects across channels, including phone, email, virtual/chat, and walk-ins
- Represent Tippie College of Business graduate programs and guide prospective students toward right-fit programs in the Tippie product portfolio through one-on-one conversations, both virtually and in-person
- Co-manage recruiting event calendars, digital scheduling platform (ScheduleOnce), and associated web content
- Coordinate new prospect data entry and prospect activity in Salesforce CRM
- Update Salesforce CRM records with new information and confirm existing data
- Monitor CRM campaign records for recruiting events and initiatives
This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

Salary: $42,392-$55,000

Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Typically, 6 months to 1 year of job-related experience in a client-focused sales support role
- Demonstrated experience in a highly computerized environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate and interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and all constituencies
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge and experience in providing customer service in a professional environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety Standards
- Ability to travel occasionally, including overnights
- Demonstrated ability to interact positively with a population of varying perspectives.
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, preferably Salesforce
- Prior experience in higher education recruiting support
