The Graduate Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for supporting and advancing graduate enrollment efforts within the College of Education. The position is split evenly between program-specific and college-wide responsibilities. Fifty percent of the role supports the Master of Arts in Teaching, Leadership, and Cultural Competency (MATLLC) program by managing recruitment processes, serving as the primary contact for prospective students, and coordinating the application and admissions process. The remaining fifty percent supports recruitment and enrollment initiatives across all College of Education graduate programs, including event planning, communications, and data management. 

Location: Lindquist Center, College of Education 

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

 

Specific Job Duties and Tasks

  • Serve as primary point of contact with prospective MATLCC students via phone, chat, SMS, email.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective students.  
  • Work with individual graduate programs across the college to determine their recruitment needs and facilitate their access to resources (marketing materials, email campaigns, website updates) to meet their recruitment goals.
  • Assist graduate programs in developing and articulating their messaging about their value proposition. 
  • Manage the application and admissions process for MATLCC, including:  
    • Tracking student progress through the application and admissions process, especially regarding deadlines.  
    • Communicating with rest of the MATLCC team about missing application elements, student progress, acceptances, registration, and general queries. 
  • Attend regular MATLCC meetings and consult on general matters regarding the program.  
  • Collaborate with faculty and Graduate Student Affairs Manager to answer inquiries from prospects, applicants, and admits regarding programs and processes.
  • Respond to marketing campaigns and digital outreach with timely, tailored follow-up. 
  • Maintain recruitment records of all leads, applications, and yields for MATLCC.  
  • Manage collegiate recruiting event calendars, digital scheduling platforms, and associated web/event pages. 
  • Assist in the coordination or preparation of strategic communications plans in support of graduate programs. 
  • Collaborate with the MATLCC team to manage marketing communications for the program. 
  • Assist in the creation of promotional content.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with marketing tools (e.g., Canva). 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in higher education, counseling, K–12 education, or marketing
  • Experience in higher education recruitment, marketing, or admissions.
  • Familiarity with MAUI and CRM systems.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in building systems and forms of communication.
