Health Records Associate
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or RN is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations is desired.
- Experience working with Trauma or Burn registries or other healthcare registries is desired.
- Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) is desired.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Experience managing complex information requiring attention to detail is highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, needing minimal guidance is highly desired.
- Knowledge of medical record coding practices, procedures, and reference sources is highly desired.
- Ability to interpret guidelines, criteria and definitions is highly desired.
- Knowledge of human anatomy is highly desired.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desired.
- Excellent organizational skills is highly desired.
- Excellent written verbal communication and interpersonal skills is highly desired.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office is highly desired.
