Required Qualifications

·         A bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         A minimum of 3 years of related progressive human resources experience.

·         Prior experience performing and/or supporting multiple HR functions such as recruitment, performance management, employee relations, conflict resolution, compensation/classification, or payroll.

·         Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with employees across the organization and external contacts; respond to questions from employees, managers, and external contacts.

·         Ability to foster a welcoming and respectful work environment.

·         Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. 

Desirable Qualifications

·         Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, maintain confidentiality, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while possessing a strong attention to detail.

·         Prior work experience in academic medicine, healthcare, or research organization.

·         Working knowledge of state and federal regulations related to human resources.

·         Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.

·         Familiarity with HRIS systems or other HR-related software such as talent acquisition systems.

·         Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)

Hybrid within Iowa: This position is eligible for a combination of on-campus and remote work. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa and comply with the remote work program and related policies. 

As previously discussed, this position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
