Informatics Specialist - North Liberty Campus
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in a health related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Typically, 3-5 years of experience (within the last 5 years) in a clinical role in a complex health care environment such as a large medical center or teaching hospital.
- Typically, 1-3 years of experience (within the last 5 years) contributing to a clinical information system implementation cycle in areas such as design, workflow analysis, build, training, implementation and support in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
- Ability to lead change in a complex academic healthcare environment and promote the understanding and effective use of information technology across departments.
- Experience authoring training materials and leading training sessions in a variety of formats.
- Excellent communication skills at the verbal, written and presentation level. Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote).
- Experience working independently with a strong focus on customer service.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa, or equivalent for clinical profession.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Clinical practice experience at an academic medical center
- Master’s level preparation or working towards Master’s with clinical specialist or management coursework.
- Experience using Epic in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
- Experience translating customer requirements into system design specifications.
- Ability to assess learning needs and match to the most effective education methods.
- Professional level certification
- Previous experience providing 24x7 on-call support.
