Instructional Lab Equipment Manager, Engineering Machine Shop
Education Requirement
- A Bachelor’s degree with a major in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in safety or lab management or related experience.
- Demonstrated experience using, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic equipment and instrumentation with knowledge of both digital and analog electronics.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex maintenance and repair projects.
- Flexibility and motivation to learn new skills and techniques.
- Working experience with laboratory safety protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master’s and/or PhD degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field is desirable.
- Two to three years’ experience in safety or lab management or related experience.
- Basic machining skills, welding, CAD, CNC programming.
