Education Required: A Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Life Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Working experience with Drosophila.
  • Demonstrated laboratory experience with sterile techniques, preparing solutions, maintaining live specimens and use of standard laboratory equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students and the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented service and support work environment.
  • Working experience with DNA and PCR procedures.
  • Must have flexibility in working hours some evening and weekend work. 
  • Demonstrated conceptual understating and practical knowledge necessary for implementing modern biological investigations and training new staff and TAs under their supervision.
 

Desired Qualifications:

 
  • Experience in molecular and cell biology, genetics, neurobiology and/or developmental biology.
  • Minimum of 1 year working experience with teaching introductory lab courses.
  • Minimum of 6 months demonstrated experience working with undergraduates in a teaching environment.
  • A Master’s degree in Biology or related discipline.
