Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  1. A Master's degree in Business Administration or Hospital and Health Administration or an equivalent combination of education or experience is required. 
  2. 3-5 years of progressive leadership in a clinical laboratory along with financial and personnel administration experience is required.
  3. Reasonable knowledge of quality assurance and human resources activities is required.
  4. Must be proficient in computer software applications.
  5. Certification (eligible) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or specialist certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is required. 
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff, and students is required.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Some experience working in an academic health center is desired.
  2. Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) is highly desired. 
  3. Experience with automated laboratory instrumentation is highly desired. 
  4. Experience in a laboratory overseeing or performing moderate and/or high complexity testing in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology and/or tissue bank is highly desired.
