Education Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience administering grants and contracts, including experience managing budgets for federal, state, and/or private sponsors. 
  • Experience managing awards from the National Institutes of Health and/or the National Science Foundation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as demonstrated at an extensive proficiency level. 
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Extensive proficiency in Microsoft computer programs, particularly Excel. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in accounting, business, or related field. 
  • 6-10 years relevant experience.
  • Experience managing sponsored project funding in an academic setting. 
  • Experience working with the University of Iowa Research Information System (UIRIS) and University of Iowa financial reports.
