The University of Iowa, Parking and Transportation department is seeking a Management Services Supervisor. This role supervises the ongoing maintenance and inspection of Parking and Transportation Department facilities, streets, equipment, signs, and lights to ensure they meet the Department and University standards for safety, functionality, aesthetics, and cleanliness. Additionally, it helps set and maintain proposed and advanced standards, supervises staff, budgeting, and activities; and participates in training, conferences, and planning. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.

Duties to Include:

  • Manage outside contractors and service providers:  snow clearing/hauling contractor, janitorial contractor, window washing contractor, parking lot sweeping contractor, revenue/access control service contracts, etc.
  • Supervise Parking Maintenance full-time and part-time staff currently consisting of, fourteen (14) Parking Maintenance Workers, and two (2) Electronics Technicians.
  • Understand and adhere to Parking Maintenance Budget.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance programs for various systems and equipment are followed and completed. 

Location: WCTC (West Campus Transportation Center)

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, after hour calls, events/snow removal.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Professional experience (typically a minimum of 2-3 years) with Parking operations, facilities, surface parking and parking equipment
  • Professional experience with general building maintenance.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications is required. Position will work with various specialized parking software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Fleet safety standards

 Desirable Qualifications:

  • University of Iowa Parking System experience 
  • Knowledge of general maintenance equipment including skid loaders, industrial sweepers, pressure washers, paint machines, snow removal equipment, and various cleaning supplies and equipment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations
