Education Requirement

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.   

 

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years working with CMS based websites (Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, etc.) 
  • Experience creating web content strategy, website analysis and design, leading web projects, providing support for websites. 
  • Expert-level knowledge of modern web strategy practices, development process, and technologies and how these align with marketing goals and objectives. 
  • Experience leading large/complex website redesign or migration. 
  • Working knowledge of technical and content-driven SEO.
  • Ability to use HTML to make edits to web content as needed. 
  • Familiarity with web accessibility issues, standards, and practices 
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and to adapt to new technologies. 
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors at a working proficiency level is required. 
  • Demonstrated working proficiency in the ability to work with variety of individuals and groups in a constructive manner while appreciating the unique contribution of diverse individuals (i.e. individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and veteran status) is required. 
  • A valid driver’s license is required, as is continued compliance with the University of Iowa Fleet Safety Program driving standards (University of Iowa Operations Manual Part V, Chapter 19). 

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with web strategy and website support in higher education 
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for managing complex work and projects 
  • Track record of SEO-focused content improvement 
  • Experience with Drupal, PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL 
  • Proficiency with web/graphic design software such as Photoshop is highly desirable, as is experience using Git for issue tracking and development prioritization. 
  • Extensive proficiency with organizational and project management skills is desirable. 
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations is desirable.
