Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in literature or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. MFA or other advanced degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in publishing. Management/supervision experience required, especially of undergraduate and graduate students.
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary literature, literary publishing, and/or literary magazines.
- Extensive proficiency in written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office and Acrobat Pro.
- Extensive proficiency in copyediting documents according to the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Basic proficiency in layout and design principles.
- Working proficiency in social media management: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
- Basic proficiency in Photoshop and/or InDesign.
Desired Qualifications
- Working proficiency in Filemaker Pro, Submittable, and website management.
- Working proficiency in subscription management, including renewal efforts.
- Working proficiency in E-newsletter management: Mailchimp or similar.
- Experience in fundraising and grant writing.
