Required Qualifications:
Either: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and
  • Fifty months of progressive experience in large web application development and support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including:
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge with: Web development languages such as Java, C#, Ruby, JavaScript. (Java experience preferred), Web based frameworks, protocols, and tools Web Services APIs.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge on software development best practices such as source code control, issue tracking, prototyping, testing, automated build and deployment, etc.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge with relational databases, including SQL and the use of persistence libraries and frameworks such as Hibernate
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of the web application industry and technology trends
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, technical problem solving, and analyzing system specifications.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with modern JavaScript interface frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge with the following web-based frameworks; Struts, Stripes, Spring, and Play
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of developing and consuming REST-based Web Services frameworks (Jersey) and authentication
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AWS development, security, and deployment
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of RabbitMQ development
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the processes and systems that support Prospecting, Admission, and Financial Aid in a higher educational setting
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and customer relations skills

Or:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and
  • Twenty-four months of progressive experience large web application development and support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including:
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge with: Web development languages such as Java, C#, Ruby, JavaScript. (Java experience preferred), Web based frameworks, protocols, and tools Web Services APIs.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge on software development best practices such as source code control, issue tracking, prototyping, testing, automated build and deployment, etc.

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of the web application industry and technology trends
