Part Time Administrative Services Coordinator, Student Wellness
Position Summary:
This position is half-time (20 hours per week). Standard hours for this position are M-F 8 am to 12 pm and may fluctuate with business needs. Position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
The Administrative Services Coordinator provides operational and administrative support for the daily operations of Student Wellness and liveWELL This includes office support work, such as checking in clients, answering questions in person and via phone, composing correspondence, maintaining program records, and preparing reports.
This position is uniquely located in the dynamic Wellness Service area of the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center (CRWC), which is a shared space of Student Wellness (within the Division of Student Life) and liveWELL (within University Human Resources). Direct supervision is provided by the Associate Director, Student Wellness, but job responsibility areas encompass both entities. The candidate has the opportunity to interact with visitors that include students, faculty and staff, as well as community members who are seeking services to improve health and well-being that contribute to a healthy campus culture.
Specific Job Duties & Tasks:
- Provides operational and administrative support for the daily operations of Student Wellness and liveWELL
- Staffs a front desk, including greeting visitors and checking in clients
- Obtains, tabulates and analyzes data to prepare periodic and special reports
- Provides functional supervision and support for student staff
- Initiates purchases for events and programs
- Manages inventory of and purchases office supplies
- Understands and adheres to the mission and vision of the departments supported
- May assist in the coordination and preparation of the Student Wellness strategic plan
- Manages departmental mailing lists, other tracking systems and computer drives
- Maintains a positive and productive environment and working relationships with a team of professional and student staff from two departments, as well as other university departments and the public

About Student Wellness:
Well-being at Iowa is fostered by an environment that promotes healthy and purposeful living for all campus members. We play a role in this by offering appointments, group workshops, events and other programming for students on nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, stress management, alcohol and drugs, tobacco/e-cigarettes, sexual health and sleep.
We have two locations on campus – in the Westlawn Building and at the CRWC.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or related field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
- At least six months of administrative experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software package, including calendar and email desktop tools, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to innovative technologies
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated careful attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skills in interpersonal relationships and strong ability to maintain effective working relations with others
- Demonstrated experience to creating and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours when needed
- Experience utilizing databases, conducting data entry and/or preparing reports
- Familiarity with HIPAA
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures related to the position
- Bi-lingual skills in a foreign language
