QA Coding Coordinator - Patient Financial Services
Education Required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience with health care insurance billing.
Experience Requirements
• Current certification as RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS, CCSP or equivalent.
• One or more years of medical coding experience.
• Knowledge, understanding and experience with CMS regulations or industry standards
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Medical terminology knowledge
• Experience specific to Hospital and/or Physician billing.
• Familiarity with all insurance payors.
• Experience using EPIC.
• Knowledge with computer software applications, (i.e. Microsoft Office programs) and the ability to learn and apply new software systems knowledge quickly.
• Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for operational improvement and implementing effective changes.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to share appropriate information and feedback in a professional, respectful and sensitive manner with all levels of personnel.
Desired Qualifications
• 1-3 years Revenue Cycle experience.
• Experience (1 year or more) creating, updating and documenting job procedures and processes.
• Experience and knowledge of Patient Financial Services’ functions, systems, processes & policies.
• Experience developing curriculum and educational resources.
• Experience providing focused training in large and small group settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in ambiguous and complex situations with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated customer -focused and team-focused actions to meet or exceed needs and expectations; take responsibility for customer complaints when an issue may lie elsewhere.
