Education Required

  • Baccalaureate degree or higher level of education.

  • Successful completion of a two-year or other program approved by the Joint Review Committee of Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT), or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, or Vascular Technology/Sonography.

     


     

    Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two years full-time post-certification professional experience as a radiologic technologist, sonographer, radiation therapist, or nuclear medicine technologist.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills



    Certification Requirements

  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), or Nuclear Medicine Technology (N); Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certification in two or more specialty areas is desired, with preference determined by instructional needs of the program.
  • Clinical instructing experience.

  • Laboratory instructing experience.

  • Classroom instructing experience.

  • Academic advising experience.

  • Clinical advising experience.

  • Educational coursework to include educational theory, course development, instructional design, and assessment methods.

  • Soft skills including active listening, conflict resolution, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork.

  • Master’s degree or coursework towards a degree.
