Required Qualifications

  1. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or other biological science, or an appropriate combination of education and years of experience working in an academic research environment.
  2. Experience with standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g., cloning, nucleic acid and protein isolation from human and animal tissue samples, PCR/qPCR, and Western blot), common cell biology techniques (e.g., immunocytochemistry/immunohistochemistry) and tissue culture techniques (e.g., establishing and maintaining primary cell lines and human iPSCs).
  3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Practical knowledge of stem cell or mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.]
  2. Familiarity with Macintosh and PC computers, including the applications Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Photoshop is desirable. 
  3. Basic understanding of standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g. nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, ICC/IHC, Western blot, cloning, reading DNA sequences, etc.).
