Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biological or biomedical sciences, or related field including relevant coursework (e.g., calculus, physics, biostatistics, genetics, chemistry, microbiology, or equivalent). 

  • At least one year of lab research experience involving general chemistry and molecular biology experiments. 

  • Ability to conduct literature reviews and utilize the university library and online resources to learn new skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 

  • Attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records. 

  • Must be comfortable handling bacterial and fungal culture. 

 

 

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Experience with molecular cloning and yeast genetics. 

  • Experience generating and analyzing Next-Gen sequencing data. 

  • Knowledge of R and experience using R for data analysis. 

  • Strong interest in evolution, microbiology, and stress response.
