Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an animal caretaking or research laboratory environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a research laboratory environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently while being accountable and efficient with time management.
  • Have a willingness and capacity to learn and teach others.
  • Previous experience with rodent colony management and caretaking.
  • IACUC training, knowledge and familiarity with compliance rules and regulations.
  • Experience with DNA/RNA techniques: DNA/RNA isolation and PCR experiments.
  • Experience with Protein techniques: protein isolation, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry/ immunofluorescence.
