Research Assistant-Family Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Requires the academic knowledge of a discipline plus the ability to translate, adapt and apply the knowledge that is generally associated with a bachelor’s degree (Dental Hygiene, Epidemiology, Public Health, Healthcare, Social Sciences, or a related field), or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible work experience.
• Required qualification: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Required qualification: Excellent customer service skills.
  Required qualification: Ability to learn and work with complex computer programs such as the scheduling process for UIHC clinics, which will require use of learning portions of Epic, the electronic medical record.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Desirable qualification: Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet the University driving policy standards.
• Desirable qualification: 3-6 months relevant experience in the conduct of social science research, including the following skillsets:
  • Research-working experience
    • Knowledge of formal methodologies, tools, and techniques for conducting research, studies, and tests.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail-working experience
    • Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Database management and data entry skills.
• Desirable qualification: Experience in the conduct of social science, clinical, or oral health research.
• Desirable qualification: Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Desirable qualification: Knowledge of/experience using an electronic medical record.
• Desirable qualification: Working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
