Research Assistant for Cardiovascular Medicine
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a biomedical related field, animal science, veterinary technology or other related science program or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in an animal caretaking or research laboratory environment
- A minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a research laboratory environment or animal caretaking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications
- Ability to work independently while being accountable and efficient with time management.
- Have a willingness and capacity to learn and teach others.
- Previous experience with rodent colony management and caretaking.
- IACUC training, knowledge and familiarity with compliance rules and regulations.
- Experience with DNA / RNA techniques: DNA/RNA isolation and PCR experiments.
- Experience with Protein techniques: protein isolation, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry/ immunofluorescence.
