Research Assistant - Neuroscience and Pharmacology
Required Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a biomedical related field, animal science, veterinary technology, or other related science program or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in an animal caretaking or research laboratory environment
- Previous animal research experience in a laboratory, veterinary office, or animal hospital with an emphasis on rodent colony maintenance, breeding, and handling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently while being accountable and efficient with time management
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience with any of the following is desired, but not required:
- Rodent colony management and caretaking
- Rodent behavioral assays
- Rodent brain histological techniques
- Genotyping of transgenic rodents
- Cloning and construction of plasmid DNA
- RNA sequencing
- Stereotaxic surgery
