Required Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a biomedical related field, animal science, veterinary technology, or other related science program or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in an animal caretaking or research laboratory environment
  • Previous animal research experience in a laboratory, veterinary office, or animal hospital with an emphasis on rodent colony maintenance, breeding, and handling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to work independently while being accountable and efficient with time management

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience with any of the following is desired, but not required:
    • Rodent colony management and caretaking
    • Rodent behavioral assays
    • Rodent brain histological techniques
    • Genotyping of transgenic rodents
    • Cloning and construction of plasmid DNA
    • RNA sequencing
    • Stereotaxic surgery
